Solid co2 ia also known as dry ice. Why?

Solid CO2 is called dry ice because it resembles ice, but Co2 does not exist in liquid from, it sublimes straight from a solid to the gas. Hence "Dry Ice". It sublimes at- 78°C becoming an extremely cold gas.It is often used in theatres or nightclubs to produce clubs, it looks bit like smoke. Because it is denser than the air, It stays low.
