Answer:

12 cubes

Step-by-step explanation:

No of cubes=vol of the cuboid/vol of the cube

                    =8*4*3/2*2*2

                    =12 cubes

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : Solid cuboid of dimensions 8 cm , 4 cm , 3 cm is melted and caste in identical cubes of 2 cm.

To find : The number of cubes

Formula used :

Volume of cuboid =l*b*h

l is the length, b is the breadth and h is the height of cuboid.

Volume of cube =(S)^3

S is the side of cube.

  • Calculation for the volume of cube and cuboid

First we have to find the volume of cube and cuboid.

For the Volume of cuboid we have the length(l), breadth(b) and height(h) of cuboid as,

l=8cm     ,       b=4cm      and  h=3cm

so the Volume of cuboid =l*b*h

                                         =8*4*3

                                         =96cm^3

For the volume of cube we have side(S) of cube is,

S=2cm

So the Volume of cube =(S)^3

                                       =(2)^3

                                       =8cm^3

We get the volume of cuboid and cube are 96cm^3 and 8cm^3 respectively.

  • Calculation for the number of cubes

volume of one cube =8cm^3

volume of x no. of cubes = 8xcm^3

volume of all cubes should be equal to the volume of cuboid

Volume of x no. of cubes = volume of cuboid

⇒  8xcm^3=96cm^3

taking 8cm^3 to other side,

⇒  x=\frac{96cm^3}{8cm^3}

⇒  x=12

Hence we get the 12 no. of cubes.
