Solids are rigid caz they hve :-
1) inter molecular space miimum
2) molecular attraction maximum
3) all the atoms in a particular solid move in the same velocity

here is your answer:-
SOLID are rigid because they are hard, they are hard because there particles are attached very closely and have very little molecular space between them and a very high attraction force between their particles
DEFINITE SHAPE because as they have very high attraction force they cannot change their shape easily and hence are of definite shape.
