solids are rigid and liquids are not it's because why that is liquid shows the property of fluidity where as solid has the great inter-molecular forces between them that holds them together that is why it so it does not show the property of fluidity whereas in liquid the inter-molecular spaces are far away they do not force a lot less force of attraction is less that is where the liquid shows the property of fluidity and that is why it's not rigid
