because particles of solids are arranged in a regular pattern and intermolecular distances are short whereas in gases molecules are far apart so we can ignore intermolecular forces apart from their brief collision...and thus make gases more diffusible

Solids have the least tendency to diffuse and gases have the maximum tendency because the particles of gas have the largest spaces between them and are able to diffuse easily and solids have the least spaces between its particles due to which they diffuse the least.
