The poet comes upon a girl was singing and reaping in the fields herself. She was alone and was singing a song. The poet could not understand the song so he started imagining what was the song about. He thought that the song was very melodious: even more melodious than the song of cuckoo and the nightingale. He felt that the song was a sad song. He could remember the song long after it was heard no more.
