Increased temperature causes an increase in kinetic energy. The higher kinetic energy causes more motion in the gas molecules which break intermolecular bonds and escape from solution.

Also it can be explained by Le Chatelier's principle, dissolution of gas in the liquid is an exothermic process with increase in temperature solubility decreases.

Hence as the temperature increases, the solubility of a gas decreases

Answer:

Exothermic process.

Explanation:

Exothermic process: The process in which heat energy is evolved is known as exothermic process.

When a gas is dissolved in a liquid, heat is released. When temperature increases dissolution of gases in liquid decreases due to increased kinetic energy of gaseous molecules. A gas molecule with high kinetic energy moves rapidly and the intermolecular bond between the gas molecule and liquid breaks. When the temperature is decreased the solubility of gases in liquid increases.
