Solution A has a pH of 4. Solution B has a pH of 8. How many times more acidic is solution A than solution B?

pH = - log [H+]

4 = - log [H+]

- log 10^-4 = -log [ H + ]

H+ = 10^-4 ....(1)

B

pH = 8

8 = - log [ H+]

- log 10^{-8} = - log [H +]

H+ = 10^{-8} ....(2)

Here, Solution A is 10000 times acidic than Solution B.
