FINDING THE BREADTH :-

In this case the length and the length of the DIAGONAL is give not the breadth. You can find out the breadth by the formula of Pythagoras theorem. The length of the rectangle acts as the base and the diagonal as the hypotenuse. You know that a sq. + b sq. = c sq.

Let the breadth be x

Therefore, diagonal sq. = length sq. + breadth sq.

=13 sq = 12 sq. + x sq.

=169 = 144 +x sq.

Transposing 144 to the L.H.S from R.H.S

=169 - 144= x sq.

=25 = x sq.

=√25 =x

Therefore,  5=x, which is the breadth of the rectangular lawn i.e. 5m.

Area of a rectangle =l * b

= 12 * 5

= 60 m sq.

Therefore the answer for your question is 60 m sq.

Hope you may found it helpful. ☺
