Hi!

In this chapter, A house is not a Home, the author conveys to us the message about his battle with anxiety, loss and feeling of giving up. When she moves to her new home, she experiences anxiety of shifting to a new place and going to a new school without any of her old friends and no guidance. When her house caught fire, she was caught in a frenzy of fear of losing all her possessions. Her mom ran inside to get her dad's possessions that she had saved and kept safely. Then she realized that her cat was missing. All the pressure and stress hit her all at once and she burst out in tears.

She moved to her grandparents' house with nothing but the clothes she was wearing at the incidence of the fire. Yet, her mother forced her to go to school the next day. She did, and she found out that people do care about her, when they pushed her into the cafeteria and showered her with gifts, stationary, clothes and love. She was grateful to everyone who helped her. She even made many friends and was invited to a lot of parties.

When she was sitting with two of her new friends watching the ruins of her old home being removed, a woman came up to them and she had a cat in her arms, which turned out to be hers. She was thankful to the kind lady who kept her cat safely and worked so hard to find its rightful owner. Thus she said," My cat was back, and so was I."

She realized that she shouldn't be said and nervous at a new place, rather, she should embrace it and feel that it is a new start.
