Water = H20

M of water = 2×1+16

= 18 g/mol

Ethyl Alcohol = C2H5OH

M of ethyl alcohol = 2×12+6+16

= 46 g/mol

46 % ethly alcohol solution so let us assume that 46 g ethanol is in 100 g solution

n = m/M

n of water = (100-46) /18

= 54/18

= 3 moles

n of ethanol = 46/46 = 1 mole

xa = na/na+nb

x of water = 3/(1+3)

= 3/4

x of ethanol = 1/4
