In pure ethyle glycol ,molecules are hydrogen bonded.Onadding water ,its molecules get in between the host molecules&breaks some hydrogen bonds between them.Due to weekning in intractions, the solution the solution shows positive deviation.

Any ideal solution obeys Roult's law.In ideal solution the solute-solute,solute-solvent and solvent- solvent Interactions are same. For this reason ΔH(mix) and ΔV(mix) is zero.

Solution of ethyl alcohol in water shows positive deviation from raoults law because here the solute-solute,solute-solvent and solvent- solvent Interactions are not same.
