solutions should show the following clearly:

taking out common
applying the identity
substituting the appropriate values
evaluating and getting the final correct answer

1- Factorise xy^2- xz^2 . Hence, find the value of 9 x 8^2 - 9 x 2^2 .
2- Factorise a^2b -b^3 .Using the result, find the value of 101^2 x100 - 100^3 .

Answer:

1) 9 × 82 – 9 × 22 = 9(82 – 22)

= 9 (8 – 2) (8 + 2) = 9 (6) (10) = 540
