Let the number be x × 4/7 & x × 2/5

According to question..

X × 4/7 = 34 - X × 2/5

4x/7 = 34/1 - 2x/5

4x/7 = 170 - 2x/5

4x × 5 = (170 - 2x) 7

20x = 1190 - 4x

20x + 14x = 1190

x = 1190/34

x = 35

So,

The numbers are

❇️ x ×4/7 = 20

❇️x × 2/5 = 14

Answer

let us assume one number be x and another be 34-x.

Now we have according to the question=>

4/7(x) = 2/5(34-x)

=>4x/7 = (68 -2x)/5

=>20x = 476 - 14x

=>34x = 476

=>14.

Hence the numbers are 14 and 20. respectively.

Verification

1)Sum of two numbers = 34

Lhs

=>14 + 20

=>34

Rhs

=>34

Since Lhs=Rhs

hence it is correct.

2)Also given=>

4/7(x) = 2/5(34-x)

Lhs

4/7×(14)

=>8

Rhs

2/5×(20)

=>8

So again Lhs = Rhs.

hence proved.
