(1/2)⁻⁵ = (2/1)⁵ = 2⁵ = 32

Hope this helps. Thank you. :)

kunalanant08p037by: why it is not 1/32 ?
Bunti360: Told you already a^ -x = 1/a*1/a*1/a*.....*1/a for x times !
AmritaD: If a power is in negative, then the number becomes reciprocal and power becomes positive

a^x = a*a*a*a*...........*a(for x times)

and also remember that, a^-x = 1/a*1/a*1/a .....*1/a, and (a/b)^m = a^m / b ^m,

I am telling you this because I am using it for solving the problem,

Now (1/2)^-5 = 1^-5/2^-5,

1 ^ -5 = 1 , and 2^ - 5 = (1/2)^5,

=> (1/2)^-5 = (2)^5
=> 2*2*2*2*2 = 32,

So 1/2 raise to the power -5 is 32,

Hope you understand, Have a great day !!
