3x + 4y =  - 5 \\  \\ y = x + 4 \\  \\ put \: the \: value \: of \: in \: equation \: first \:  \\  \\  \\  =  > 3x + 4(x + 4) =  - 5 \\  =  > 3x + 4x + 16 =  - 5 \\  =  > 7x =  - 5 - 16 \\  =  > 7x =  - 21 \\  =  > x =  - 3 \\ now \: put \: the \: value \:  \: x \:  \: in \: second \: eqution \:  \\  =  > y = x + 4 \\  =  > y =  - 3 + 4 \\  =  > y = 1
