The solution :
1) x/2-1 = x/3+4
(x - 2)/2 = (x+12)/3
3(x-2) = 2(x+12)
3x - 6 = 2x + 24
3x - 2x = 24 + 6
x = 30
2) 3(x+3)-2(x-1) = 5(x-5)
Here, first open the bracket
3x + 9 - 2x + 2 = 5x - 25
Take all the variables on one side and coefficient on another side
3x - 2x - 5x = -25 - 9 - 2
x - 5x = -34 - 2
-4x = -36
x = -36/-4
x = 9
