hi Tinu ,

Given :
x/3 + y/4 = 4
multiply whole equation by 12
4x + 3y = 48 ...(1)

5x/6 - y/8 = 4
multiply whole equation by 24
20x - 3y = 96 ...(2)

adding 1 and 2
4x + 3y - 48 = 0  ...(1)
20x - 3y - 96 = 0  ...(2)

we get
24x = 144
x = 6

so
using
4x + 3y = 48
4*6 + 3y = 48
3y = 48 - 24
y = 24/3
y = 8

Hope it helped
Let me know if any doubts
Cheers !!!

jish4you: pls mark it as brainliest
tinu21: you multiply 12 or 24 why
jish4you: to bring the equation terms into multiples and not fractions
jish4you: multiply with the LCM : x/3 + y/4 = 4 LCM of 3 and 4 is 12
jish4you: similarly 5x/6 - y/8 = 4 LCM of 6 and 8 is 24
