we are given the ratio of PR/PQ = 1/3  ----------(1)
PQ - PR/PQ = 1-1/3 = 2/3

QR/PQ = 2/3   -----------------(2)

divide(1) by (2)

(PR/PQ)/(QR/PQ) = PR/QR = 1/2

or, PR : QR = 1:2

apply section formula and get the coordinates of R as (x, y) = (4, -1).

As R lies on the line 3x-4y+k = 0
therefore, (x, y) should satisfy the equation.

and, 3(4) - 4(-1) + k = 0
        12 + 4 + k = 0
          therefore, k = -16 ;)
