1. Our mass will be more than 42 kg because when we stand on a weighing machine, our weight acts downwards while upthrust due to air acts upwards.

2. Iron bar is heavier than cotton because the surface area of the cotton bag is larger than the iron bar.

Hi...

our mass is always less than we measure on weight on machine

because w=mg
if we consider
g=10
then our actual mass is =4.2kg

2)iron bar always feel heavy than cotton because surface area of cotton is more and also cotton have some space inside and it is possible some air will go inside it and cotton make lighter than actual mass.

so cotton have more mass than iron when we measure in space but on earth iron have more mass
