Given :- -15y -23 = 18

To find :- The value of Y

Now,

$-15y - 23 = 18$

$=> -15y = 18 + 23$ (transferring -23 to RHS , we get +23)

$=> -15y = 41$

$=> y = \frac{41}{-15}$

Let us check it out ,

Substituting y = $\frac{-41}{15}$

So,

$-15 × \frac{-41}{15} -23 = 18$

$=> (-1 × -41) -23 = 18$

$=> 41 - 23 = 18$

$=> 18 = 18$

Hence ,

LHS = RHS.
