2 ( 3 + 2x ) - 5 ( x -1 ) = 12

=> 6 + 4x - 5x + 5 = 12

=> 11 - x = 12

=> -x = 12 - 11

=> -x = 1

=> x = -1

Answer:

2(3 + 2x) - 5(x - 1) = 12 \\ 6 + 4x - 5x  + 5  = 12\\ 10x - x = 12 \\ 9x = 12 \\ x =  \frac{12}{9 }  \\ x = 4
