2x+3y=11......(1)
2x-4y=-24.....(1)

subtracting eq(2) from eq(1) we have

.....................................................................
7y=35
=>y=35/7=5

now 2x+3y=11
=>2x+3*5=11
=>2x=11-15=-4
x=-4/2=-2

again y=mx+3
5=m*(-2)+3
5=-2m+3
-2m=5-3=2
m=2/-2=-1

Answer:

x = -2

y = 5

m = -1

Step-by-step explanation:

2x + 3y = 11 .....(i)

2x - 4y = -24 .....(ii)

From equation (i) ;

2x + 3y = 11

⇒2x = 11 - 3y

⇒x = \sf \frac{11 - 3y}{2}

Substituting the value of x in eq (ii).

2x - 4y = -24

⇒ 2 (\sf \frac{11 - 3y}{2}) - 4y = -24

⇒ 11 - 3y - 4y = -24

⇒ 11 - 7y = - 24

⇒ - 7y = - 24 - 11

⇒ - 7y = -35

⇒ 7y = 35

⇒ y = \dfrac{35}{7}

⇒ y = 5

Putting the value of y in eqⁿ (i)

2x + 3y = 11

⇒ 2x + 3 * 5 = 11

⇒ 2x + 15 = 11

⇒ 2x = 11 - 15

⇒ 2x = - 4

⇒ x = \dfrac{-4}{2}

⇒ x = -2

Hence, x = -2 and y = 5 are the solution of the given equation.

Now, we need to find the value of m.

y = mx + 3

⇒ 5 = m (-2) + 3

⇒ 2m = 3 - 5

⇒ 2m = -2

⇒ m = \dfrac{-2}{2}

⇒ m = -1

Thus, the value of m is (-1).
