2(x + 7) + 3(x - 4) = 7(x + 2) - 5

→ 2x + 14 + 3x - 12 = 7x + 14 - 5

→ 5x + 2 = 7x + 9

→ 2x = -7

→ x = -7/2

2(x+7)+3(x-4)=7(x+2)-5

2x+14+3x-12=7x+14-5

2x+3x-7x=14-5-14+12

-2x=7

x=7/-2
