Given:

20/x+y +3/x-y =7 and 8/x-y -15/x+y =5

To find:

solve: 20/x+y +3/x-y = 7 and 8/x-y -15/x+y = 5

Solution:

From given, we have

20/x+y +3/x-y =7 and 8/x-y -15/x+y = 5

let us consider, 1/(x + y) = u and 1/(x - y) = v

so, we have,

20u + 3v = 7 .........(1)

8v - 15u = 5

-15u + 8v = 5 .........(2)

solving the equations (1) and (2), we get,

u = 1/5 and v = 1

as we have,

1/(x + y) = u and 1/(x - y) = v

so, we get,

1/(x + y) = 1/5 and 1/(x - y) = 1

x + y = 5 and x - y = 1

adding these equations, we get,

2x = 6

x = 3

substituting the value of x in one of the above equations, we get,

x + y = 5

3 + y = 5

y = 5 - 3

y = 2

Therefore, the solution of 20/x+y +3/x-y = 7 and 8/x-y -15/x+y = 5  is x = 3 and y = 2.
