To solve : 291^{2} - 289^{2}  using identity

Solution  :

  • As per the given data we have to solve , 291^{2} - 289^{2}  using identity  .
  • As we can see that , 291^{2} - 289^{2}  is of the form of a^{2} -  b^{2}
  • Here , a = 291 and b = 289 .
  • a^{2} -  b^{2} = ( a + b) ( a -b ) \\
  • Substituting the values we get ,
  • 291^{2} - 289^{2}   = ( 291 + 289 ) (291 -289 )

                              = (580)(2)\\=1160

Hence , value of  291^{2} - 289^{2}   is 1160 .
