y = 77/205 or y = 0.375.

Given:2x+1/10-3-2x/15=x-2/6, 1/x+1/y=3

To Find: value of y.

Solution:

consider 2x+1/10-3-2x/15=x-2/6, ----- Equation 1.

first we have to find x in order to find y.

Rewriting Equation 1 as, 2x-x-2x/15 = 3-1/10-2/6.

Solving the above derived Equation,

x-2x/15 = 3-1/10-1/3. (Taking L.C.M of 10 and 3 as 30)

(15x-2x)/15 = (90-3-10)/30,

13x/15 = 77/30,

13x = 77/2

x = 77/26.

Substituting x in  1/x+1/y=3, (x = 77/26, 1/x = 26/77)

26/77 + 1/y = 3,

1/y = 3 - 26/77

1/y = (3×77 - 26)/77

1/y = (231-26)/77

1/y = 205/77

Therefore y = 77/205 or y = 0.375.
