Solve

(1) Multiply the numbers

 - 2x - 1. \frac{3}{2} = \frac{2(x - 4)}{3} \\ \\ - 2x - \frac{3}{2} = \frac{2(x - 4)}{3}

(2) Distribute

 - 2x - \frac{3}{2} = \frac{2(x - 4)}{3} \\ \ \\ - 2x - \frac{3}{2} = \frac{2x - 8}{3}

(3) Add 3/2 to both sides of equations

 - 2x - \frac{3}{2} = \frac{2x - 8}{3} \\ \\ - 2x - \frac{3}{2} + \frac{3}{2} = \frac{2x - 8}{3} + \frac{3}{2}

Solution

x = \frac{7}{16}
