Solve |-2x + 32| = |-6x - 8|

rakesh3009: |-(2x - 32)| = |-(6x + 8)|
rakesh3009: 2x - 32 = 6x + 8
rakesh3009: 2x - 6x = 8 + 32
rakesh3009: -4x = 40
rakesh3009: x = 40 / -4
rakesh3009: x = -10
YuvrajSingh: ans is 6

|-2x + 32| = |-6x - 8|
square bother sides

(-2x + 32)^2 = (-6x - 8)^2
=>4x^2 -128x + 1024 = 36x^2 +96x+64
=>
36x^2 +96x-4x^2+128x= 1024-64
=>32x^2+224x-960=0
=>x^2 + 7x -30 = 0

[-2x+32] = [-6x - 8]
-2x + 32= -6x - 8
32+8= -6x + 2x
40= -4x
x = -10

priyambaksi: Its not a bracket its a mod.
