solve 2x+3y=11,2x-4y=-22 find x and y

Answer:

2x+3y=11....(1)

2x-4y=-22.....(2)

(1)-(2)

7y=33

y=33/7

putting y=33/7 in (1)

2x+3*33/7=11

2x+99/7=11

2x=11*7/99

2x=7/9

x=7/18

Therefore required solution (x,y)=(7/18,33/7)
