Answer:

2x + 3y = 11 \\ 3y = 11 - 2x \\ y =  \frac{11}{3}  -  \frac{2x}{3} ...........(i) \\ 2x - 4y =  - 24 \\  - 4y =  - 24 - 2x \\ y =6 +  \frac{1}{2} x.. ......(ii) \\  \\ now  \\ \: \\  using \: (i)and \: (ii) \\   \frac{11}{3}  -  \frac{2}{3} x = 6 +  \frac{1}{2} x \\  \frac{11}{3}  - 6 =  \frac{1}{2} x +  \frac{2}{3} x \\  -  \frac{7}{3}  =  \frac{7}{6} x \\ x =   \frac{ - 34}{7}

Answer:

m = - 1

Step-by-step explanation:

y = mx+3

5 = m(-2)+3

5-3= -2m

2 = -2m

-2/2=m

m = -1

value of m= -1
