$2x \: – \: 4y = -24(eq. \: 2)$

$subtracting \: eq \: 1from \: 2$

$2x \: - \: 4y - (2x + 3y) = -24 - 11$

$= > 2x - 4y - 2x - 3y \\ = - 35 \\ \\ = > \: 7y \: = - 35 \\ \\ y \: = \frac{35}{7} \\ \\ = > y \: = 5$

$now, \\ \\for \: the \: value \: of \: x, \\ in \: equation \: 1 \\ putting, \: the \: value \\ of \: y \: \\ 2x + 3y = 11$
