Solve 2x +3y = 11 and 2x -4y = -24 and hence find the value of m for which y = mx +8

Answer:

x+3y=11

2x=11−3y

Substituting this in 2nd equation, we get

(11−3y)−4y=−24

11−7y=−24

7y=11+24

y=735=5

Substituting value of y 

2x=11−3×5

x=2−4=−2

Now, to find the value of m, we substitute the values of x and y in the equation

5=m×(−2)+3

m=−25−3=−1
