2x+3y=-4.....(i),4x+6y=-8.....(ii)
Then, from (i)
3y=-4-2x
implies,y=-(4+2x)/3.....(iii)
Putting (iii) in (ii), we get
4x+6(-(4+2x/3))=-8
implies 12x-8-4x=-24
implies 8x=-16
implies x=-2
Putting this value in (iii), we get
(-4-2(-2))/3=y
Hence,y=0
