Answer:

__________

2x + y - 11 = 0 ______ ( i )

x + y - 8 = 0 _______ ( ii )

By cross multiplication , we have

\frac{1}{1} × \frac{-11}{-8} × \frac{2}{1} × \frac{1}{1}

_____________✫____________✫__________

\frac{x}{1 × -8 - 1 × -11} = \frac{y}{-11 × 1 - ( -8 ) × 2} = \frac{1}{2 × 1 - 1 × 1}

\frac{x}{-8  - ( -11 )} = \frac{y}{-11 - ( -16} = \frac{1}{2 - 1}

\frac{x}{-8 + 11} = \frac{y}{-11 + 16} = \frac{1}{2 - 1}

\frac{x}{3} = \frac{y}{5} = \frac{1}{1}

\frac{3}{1} = \frac{5}{1}

Hence , x = 3 & y = 5 is required Solution .
