TO FIND :–

Value of 'y'

EXPLANATION :–

• According to the question –

=> (2y - 2021)² + 3(2y - 2021) = 4

• Now put (2y - 2021) = t –

=> t² + 3t = 4

=> t² + 3t - 4 = 0

=> t² + 4t - t - 4 = 0

=> t(t + 4) - 1(t + 4) = 0

=> (t - 1)(t + 4) = 0

=> t = 1 , -4

• So that –

☞ When t = 1 –

=> 2y - 2021 = 1

=> 2y = 2021 + 1

=> 2y = 2022

=> y = 1011

☞ When t = -4 –

=> 2y - 2021 = -4

=> 2y = 2021 - 4

=> 2y = 2017

=> y = 2017/2
