$3a+8b=3----------(3)\\\\ 12b-6a=1--------(4)$

Multiply 2 to equation (3) , we get

$6a+16b=6--------(5)$

Add equation (4) and (5) , we get

$28b= 7\\\\ b=\dfrac{1}{4}$

Put value of b in (3) , we get

$3a+8(\dfrac{1}{4})=3\\\\ 3a+2=3\\\\\ 3a= 1\\\\ a=\dfrac{1}{3}$

From (i) , we have

$2x-y= 3--------(6)\\\\ x+2y=7---------(7)$

From 7 , x= 7-2y , put this in (6) , we gte

$2(7-2y)-y=3\\\\ 14-4y-y=3\\\\ -5y=-11\\\\ y=\dfrac{11}{5}=2.2$

So , x= 7-2(2.2)=2.6

Hence, the solution is (2.6, 2.2)
