Given:

Add 3/5 + 2/7 + 13/35

Explanation:

  • First before anything, dont forget to make all the denominators same while you do operations lile addition and subtraction
  • Then just add the numerators and make sure to write the answer in the shortest form.

=> Making denominators same:

  • Inorder to make all the denominators same, we have to find the LCM of all the denominators.

LCM of 5,7 and 35 is 35.

  • Now multiply each of the denominators with the appropriate number to make their denominator 35.
  • Make sure to multiply the same number you have done in denominators with the numerators too.

 \frac{3}{5}  =   \frac{3 \times 7}{5 \times 7} = \frac{21}{35}

 \frac{2}{7}  =   \frac{2 \times 5}{7 \times 5} = \frac{10}{35}

 \frac{13}{35}  =   \frac{13 \times 1}{35 \times 1} = \frac{13}{35}

Now, adding all the fractions:

 \frac{21}{35}  +   \frac{10}{35}   +  \frac{13}{35} =  \frac{(13 + 10 + 21)}{35}   =  \frac{44}{35}
