Solution:

3 ( y - 4 ) = 5 ( 2y + 1 )

⟹3y-12=10y+5

Variable terms will come in left and constant terms will come in right.

⟹3y-10y=5+12

Also, their signs will be changed.

⟹-7y=17

⟹y=-17/7

As, (-17) is not divisible by 7, then we will take the answer either in fraction or in Decimal.

⟹y=-2.42

I have taken answer in Decimal.

Also :- I have taken the answer till 2 decimal places.(2.4285714286)
