Multiply equations (i) and (ii) with 2 and 3 respectively and subtract equation (i) from (ii)
6x + 9y = 36 …. (ii)x3
6x + 4y = 20 …. (i) x2
————————
5y = 16
=> y = 16/5
Therefore
x = (10 - 2y)/3 = (50 - 32)/15
= 18/15 = 6/5
So (x ,y) = (6/5, 16/5)
6x + 9y = 36 …. (ii)x3
6x + 4y = 20 …. (i) x2
————————
5y = 16
=> y = 16/5
Therefore
x = (10 - 2y)/3 = (50 - 32)/15
= 18/15 = 6/5
So (x ,y) = (6/5, 16/5)
