3x + 2y = 7............(1)

2x + y = 4...........(2)

From (1)

x = (7 - 2y)/3........(3)

Sunstitute (3) in (2)

2(7 - 2y)/3 + y = 4

[(14 - 4y) + 3y]/3 = 4.............(LCM=3)

14 -4y +3y = 4 × 3

14 - y = 12

Therefore y = 14 -12

= 2

Substute y = 2 in (1)

3x + 2×2 = 7

3x + 4 = 7

3x = 7 - 4

3x = 3

Therefore x = 3/3

= 1

Therefore the values of x = 1 & y = 2

Hope it helps you
