solve 3x-4y=16,x-3y=8

Answer:

3x-4y=16

x-3y=8

multiply eq 2 by 3 we get

3x-4y=16

3x-9y=24

subtract

5y=-8

y=-8/5

put in eq 1 we get

3x-4×-8/5=16

3x+32/5=16

3x=16-32/5

3x=48/5

x=144/5
