Using Elimination method

$\sf{3x + 2y = 13 \: \: \: }$

EVALUATION

Here the given system of equations are

$\sf{3x + 4y = 5 \: \: \: - - - - (1)}$

$\sf{3x + 2y = 13 \: \: \: - - - - (2)}$

Now Equation 1 - Equation 2 gives

2y = - 8

$\implies \sf{y = - 4}$

Putting the values of y in Equation 1 we get

$\sf{3x + (2 \times - 4) = 13 }$

$\sf{ \implies \: 3x - 8 = 13 }$

$\sf{ \implies \: 3x = 21 }$

$\sf{ \implies \: x =7 }$

Hence the required solution is

x = 7 & y = - 4
