Answer:

Let x be 1.

=>3(1) × (-7) = -4

=>-21= -4

Since, by using 1, we get a number bigger than the given number, so, we will use a number less than 1.

Thus,

Let x = 1/3

=>3(1/2) × (-7) = -4

=>3/2 × (-7) = -4

=>(-21)/2 = -4

L.h.s not equal to r.h.s

Let x = 1/3

=>3(1/3)×(-7) = -4

=>(-7)= -4

l.h.s. not equal to r.h.s

Let x = 4/21

=>3(4/21)×(-7) = -4

=>(-84)/21 = -4

=> (-4)= -4

Here, L.H.S. = R.H.S.

So, x = 4/21
