⇒ (9x² - 18x - 16) - (8x² - 18x - 11) = x² + 4x - 21

⇒ 9x² - 18x - 16 - 8x² + 18x + 11 = x² + 4x - 21

⇒ x² - 5 = x² + 4x - 21

⇒ - 5 = 4x - 21

⇒ 4x = 21 - 5

⇒ 4x = 16

⇒ x = 16/4

⇒ x = 4
