3x + y = 14 - equ ( 1 )

x - 2 = 2 - equ ( 2 )

x - 2 = 2

x = 2 + 2 = 4

Substituting x = 4 in equ ( 1 )

3 x 4 + y = 14

y + 12 = 14

y = 14 - 12

y = 2

So , the values of x and y are 4 and 2 .
