Solution of equation x= 3 and y = -2

Given:

4x - 18 = 3y,    6x + 7y -4=0

4x-3y = 18          6x + 7y = 4

To find:

Solution of equation.

Explanation:

4x-3y = 18 ............... 1

6x + 7y = 4 .............. 2

Multiply equation 1 by 7

7(4x-3y) = 18×7

28x - 21y = 126 ...................3

Multiply equation 2 by 3

3(6x + 7y ) = 4×3

18x + 21y = 12 .....................4

Adding Equation 3 and 4

 We get 46x = 138

                   x = \frac{138}{46} = 3

Put this value in equation 1

4x-3y = 18

4×3 - 3y = 18

         3y= 12-18 = -6

          y= -2

Solution of equation x= 3 and y = -2
