substituting 1/x as m and 1/y as n
5m+6n=8.......(1)
3m/2+4n=7/2.......(2)
multiplying equation 2 by 2
3m+4n=7.........(3)
multiplying equation 1 by 3 and 3 by 5
15m+18n=24......(4)
15m+20n=35......(5)
solving equation 4 and 5 we get
m=11/2 and n=-19/8
resubstituting the value of m and n
1/x =m and 1/y=n
1/x=11/2 and 1/y=-19/2
2=11x and 2=-19y
2/11=x and 2/-19=y
x=2/11 and y=2/-19
