5x² + 2x + 1 = 7

5x² + 2x – 6 = 0

a= 5

b = 2

c = – 6

x = \frac{ - b ± \sqrt{b {}^{2} - 4ac } }{2a}

x =  \frac{ - 2 ± \sqrt{( - 2) {}^{2} - 4(5)( - 6) } }{2(5)}

x =  \frac{ - 2 ± \sqrt{4 + 120} }{10}

x =  \frac{ - 2 ± \sqrt{124} }{10}

x =  \frac{ - 2 ± 2 \sqrt{31} }{10}

x =   \frac{ - 1}{5}  ±  \frac{ \sqrt{31} }{5}

Step-by-step explanation:

5x²+2x-6=0

by using quadratic formula

x=-b +_ (root b²-4ac)/2a

x=-2+_(root 4+120)/10

x=-2+_(root 124)/10

x=-2+root124/10 and -2-root124/10
