4x-y=2

answer= x-2y=9

5x + 3y= 11 .....eq 1

4x – y =2 ......eq 2

to subtract

= 1x+4y = 9

therefore 1x = 9 –4y

putting the value of x in eq 1

45 – 20y +3y =11

–17y = – 34

y = 2

putting the value of y in eq 2

4x– 2 = 2

x = 1
